What Is Sixgill Woodworking?
Blending the love of scuba diving and woodworking, Sixgill Woodworking is the result.
The Bluntnose Sixgill Shark is typically found globally in depths exceeding 1000 feet, and can reach upwards of 18 feet in length. However, they are known to frequent shallower waters in the Puget Sound in the warmer summer months. While these depths are still at the limits of recreational diving (100 feet), shark sightings can occur.
It was during one of these encounters where something unusual and amazing occurred. Not only were there two adult sharks in the water, there was unexpected, even more rare visitor: a shark pup. Approximately three feet in length, this pup was the highlight of the dive. To the best of our knowledge, a diver had never photographed a pup, let alone seen one while diving.
